Comments:

Not my best run. Nutrition durning the day sucked and I was busy walking and doing horse show related stuff all day so I didn't feel 100%. wore the wrong shoes and socks for this race. expecting more of a trail run similar to the last adventure race i did which was fairly technical. should have wore my street shoes. lots of sand on course so with the crowd there was a lot of dust in the air which led to a lot of dust in your mouth. thankfully there were plenty of aid stations with water to rinse it out. the last mile or two the mile markers on course were confusion b/c that part of the trail shared with the 5k race. i wasn't paying eough attention to my watch and the mile markers to realize i wasn't as far as i thought so i had some mental deamons the last mile or so. actually had to walk at one point for about a 50 yards. just had to try and regroup mentally, then picked it back up and finished ok. not much left in the tank at the end.
What would you do differently?:

prepare better and not show up alreay tired.

lack of energy, shoes, and mental state.

Course: Nice trail, about a mile of gravel/concrete running. Trail was mostly sandy soil with not many roots, water, or other obstruction. Not much incline/decline. fairly twisty and turny.
