Pre-race routine:

Got up around 05:00, had an english muffin and o.j. for breakfast. Drove to the race site, did a little stretching.

Comments:

Ran maybe a bit to fast at the beginning. Ran 7:50 through about the first 10k. Took a HammerGel around mile 3 and mile 7. Second half of the course was a little rough. Lost a lot of time on the back half. Had some cramps in my calf muscles. Weather was nice, and the crowd was great. Didn't run my best half but a good measuring stick for IMKS.
What would you do differently?:

Train a little more, get a few longer runs in before race day. Better nutrition the week leading up to the race.

Warm down:

Walked around and stretched. Got some water and gatorade, waited for others to finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Cramps. Lack of distance runs before race day.

Event comments:

Fun race, well put together and organized.
