Swim
Comments: The swim was a zoo, with people crossing in front and often running into people in front with nowhere to go, really. It was really hard to get into a rhythm, and I had to calm myself down once but was able to keep my head down and keep going. What would you do differently?: Get farther to the outside where I could get into a rhythm and go Transition 1
Comments: Transitions were great today, 4th in the AG. Bike
Comments: My bike leg was strong. No one passed me. There was difficulty navigating through some newbies at the beginning, as they tend to drift all over the place. I hammered pretty hard and passed some in my age group who got out of the water ahead of me. What would you do differently?: It was a good leg. The only thing I could have done differently would be to treat it like a time trial. Transition 2
Comments: 2nd place in my AG! What would you do differently?: Nuttin' Honey. Run
Comments: I felt strong today and just worked the cadence, trying to pump the arms and keep a fast turnover. I was able to maintain my pace over the course. What would you do differently?: Go a little further into the pain cave. Post race
Warm down: Walking around and stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: Crappy swim wave and a crappy swim. Event comments: The organization was excellent, especially considering that there were tornado warnings the night before. Post race BBQ turkey from the Turkeyman was the best race food ever.
