Comments: nce again I started toweard the rear of wave an di t was pretty congested. Took a few 100 yards to open up. Water was crystal clear so I was really able to work on my drafting. Have a hard time gauging my pace in OWS since I averaged 1:27/100Y and my pool T-pace is 1:32 What would you do differently?: Start closer up front and have more confidence inmy swimming ability. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Calves were crapping up during jog to bikes and also while trying to get my wetsuit off. Couldn't find my bike!!! Probably lost 30-40 seconds. This Transistion time also included a 600Y run from lake. I thought I did ok but still not happy with T1 times. What would you do differently?: Need to work on getting my wetsuit off faster. Need to use some type of marker (balloon, colored towel, flag, etc.) help me find bike faster. ![]() Bike
Comments: Was shooting for 20MPH average on bike and pretty much hit it. Took about 10 miles for my calves to start feeling back to normal. Really kicked it in for last 8-10 miles and passed alot of riders. 2nd half of ride was a downpour. Had some vision issues with my sunglasses and took some turns a little slower than usual. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Decent transition. Had soem sprint race girls in front of me who in my opinin could have moved a little faster - haha. probably lost 10-15 seconds with that. What would you do differently?: If there is any chance of rain I will cover my shoes and socks with a bag. By the time I got to T2 the shoes and sock were wet which made the socks more difficult to put on. ![]() Run
Comments: Had a hard time getting a good consistent pace with the mud. Made it pretty difficult to navigate and took some extra energy to turn my legs over. I am pretty happy with an 8:53 pace What would you do differently?: Pray for no rain. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Took a nice cool swim with my son in the lake after race. Felt good What limited your ability to perform faster: Transistion. More run speed work. I find I am getting really tired at end of races. Event comments: RAM did a good job with this race. Nice goodie bag with nice bike jersey, organized race and plenty of volunteers. If it wasn't for the mud race course I would rate this race as a 5. Last updated: 2010-04-10 12:00 AM

Camped which looking probably wasn't the greatest idea- especially when you forget pillows but it was nice because the race was at campground. Tried not to eat too crappy before. Had pasta and chiken sausage
Forgot a few things so had to keep running back to campsite. Probably ran 2 miles for warmup
