Comments: Mile 1- 6:29 (started out way too fast) Mile 2- 7:06 Mile 3- 6:55 Mile 4- 7:09 Mile 5- 7:21 Mile 6- 7:16 Additional .21 for 10 K check- 1:33 Mile 7- 7:34 (big hill) Mile 8- 7:13 (a little up and then down) Mile 9- 7:24 Mile 10- 7:58 (beginning to die) Mile 11- 8:09 (dying a slow death going uphill) Mile 12- 7:59 (trying to attach the hill up to the start) Mile 13- 7:46 Remaining .13- :45 What would you do differently?: Started out too fast as usual. I need to really do a better job controlling my excitement at the start of races. Also, I am no where near I should be at this point of the year in regards to my training. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked around and visited with some other racers I knew. Got something to drink and then headed home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of desired training. Woke up at 5:45. Quick hot shower to wake up. Ate two bananas and out the door. Stopped at Hy-Vee to get a Red Bull and some gels.
Jogged a mile on the course.
