Swim
What would you do differently?: My sighting was terrible. I swam WAY off course, out towards the middle of the lake rather than staying tight to the bouys. I need to sight more frequently since there are no lane lines in open water. :) Transition 1
Comments: It was a long run into transition with some rough ground and tree roots in the path. The race volunteers were great though, pointing everything out as you ran by. What would you do differently?: The wetsuit got stuck on my big ol' feet so more bodyglide needed on my heel next time. Bike
Comments: A very safe and well organized bike course. Every intersection had volunteers and a Sheriff controlling traffic. The rain definitely played a factor towards the end of the ride. The last decent was sketchy, a few people went down. What would you do differently?: Train on more hills, maybe drink a little more towards the beginning of the bike. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I cramped a bit at the beginning of the run, but pushed through. I could have pushed harder but I'm happy with the result. What would you do differently?: Maybe push a little harder, I know I'm capable of sub 8 minute pace for a 5K. But I'm still happy with my result. Post race
Warm down: Lots of walking and getting warm, dry clothes on. Ate some pasta and a shredded chicken sandwich that was provided. Pretty good stuff. Went and got a hot chocolate. Event comments: A super race with very friendly staff and volunteers. The course was well marked and I felt very safe during the entire race. I will definitely be doing more WI Tri Series races in the future. www.witriseries.com Last updated: 2010-04-12 12:00 AM

Some running to get the legs warmed up, arm circles to get the arms warm. No swim warmup since the air temp was so cold.
