Swim
Comments: This was one of my best swims despite not getting a draft. My navigation was great, I stayed along the buoys best ever. Sighting was much improved from KC. 1:43 is my best swim time, same pace as RochesterFest but that included a run along the beach. Transition 1
Comments: I had the fastest T1 in my AG by 12 seconds. Bike
Comments: PR on the bike for Oly distance. What would you do differently?: Crowds early on bike as always here, kind of congested at end as well. Transition 2
Comments: 3 in AG, +10 from AG leader. Run
Comments: Decent run, 1:08 better than KC. Approaching my sub-7:00 pace goal. The big hill at the turnaround slows the pace. What would you do differently?: Register on time. I was not registered until Fri, even thoug hI had been planning on the race for months, even had the hotel room early. Post race
Warm down: Really thirsty, drank a lot. Met up with Barb, Wendy, Patti. Cheered on Scott, Bill and Harvey. Talked to the Ekman's. What limited your ability to perform faster: Oly PR by 1:21 so happy with results. Event comments: As others have said, the problem with this race is the number of participants and the overlap between Oly and Sprint courses. 4 years in a row, we'll have to see about next year. Very happy with results, especially after somewhat dissappointing time at KC. At awards when they announced 3rd in my AG I thought, o well, good race anyway and was suprised & happy to get 2nd in AG. I got some Tifosi sunglasses with multiple lenses, pretty neat. I did miss my AG picture, 1st place in AG was a 50 yr old. Last updated: 2010-04-14 12:00 AM
