Pre-race routine:

Light Breakfast, Banana, Raisin Bagel.
Set up Transition area and chatted with other racers, helped wife set up her Ttransition area, this is her first tri.
Event warmup:

Light stretching, run through race in my head, planning T's and going over T location.
Swim
  • 08m 29s
  • 328 yards
  • 02m 35s / 100 yards
Comments:

Bad swim, Started out way to fast, passed two people, but burned out after 100 meters, ended up getting passed by 6 people. Had to walk to catch my breath, kept breathing on every stroke. Completely screwed up my timing for the rest of the race. Time was 20 seconds faster than anticipated, but costly for the whole race.
What would you do differently?:

Came out way to fast, need lessons to work on my technique and focus on form, breathing, and timing
Transition 1
  • 04m 31s
Comments:

Great Transition, lost a couple of seonds looking for shoes and glasses, but that was due to the swim excitiment. Jogged to my bike, socks and shoes right on put on race belt and helmet unracked bike and hit the entrance jogging.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing perfect transition
Bike
  • 53m 24s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 13.97 mile/hr
Comments:

Did not hit it hard enough, way to slow on the gear changes and did not push myself, tried to save some for the run which was a huge mistake, got passed by at least 6 people, passed 2.
What would you do differently?:

Hit it harder
Transition 2
  • 00m 50s
Comments:

Fast transition went right to rack, put up bike and took of helmet, put on cape, quick drink, and off
What would you do differently?:

Nothing perfect Transition
Run
  • 41m 51s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 13m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

Slow, Half a minute slower than last year, walked most of the course.
What would you do differently?:

More run time
Post race
Warm down:

QWalk around stretch out

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Went out to fast on the swim, 84% humidity did not help, but I have put on about 10lbs from last year, need more running and biking as well as swim lessons.

Event comments:

LOutstanding race great people, but I need more work out time.
