Swim
Comments: Got lucky with the two guys in front being fast and the people behind being slow. Only had to pass one guy who was walking. (Yes, walking in the pool.) What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Trouble getting shirt on. Everything else was good. What would you do differently?: Get a tri shirt. Bike
Comments: Went out too fast 19.3mph and didn't save enough for the long uphill at the end. Showed 17.5mph average on my bike computer???? What would you do differently?: Start slower and save my legs. Transition 2
Comments: Wearing my running shoes made T2 easy What would you do differently?: Need to get bike shoes. Run
Comments: Legs felt OK but limited by high HR. What would you do differently?: Need more miles training. Post race
Warm down: Took quite a while to get my heart rate down. Kept moving, had a water, had a sandwich from Jersey Mikes (Thanks). Had a massage and boy was I sore. Stretched out and kept walking around and cheered in other people. What limited your ability to perform faster: Need to keep working on keeping my heart rate down in the 140s. A new bike (Newer than my 30 year old Nishiki) couldn't hurt. I also have to find a place to train on hills. Event comments: For a first race I think they did a good job. They shortened the bike course from what was planned (Thanks) and changed the swim from left lane to right lane (Confused me under the lane dividers). I will come back next year.
