![]() Swim
Comments: The water was super shallow. You could wade out about 3/4 of the way to the turn buoy if you wanted to. I had to really practice how far I wanted to wade before I started swimming. I ended up wading out about 75 meters and then start swimming in about 2.5 feet of water. Coming back in was about the same distance. What would you do differently?: Maybe try to not wade as much. My legs got so tired on the swim the rest of my race had lacked because of it. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: I had to just stop for a few seconds to catch my breath when I got to my bike. I was so tired from wading so much in the water. What would you do differently?: Practice my transitions more!!! This transition was only 8 seconds slower than my first one though, so it wasn't too bad I guess. ![]() Bike
Comments: About 6 miles in I realized I had way too much play in my left foot and figured I was losing screws from my cleat. I had to take it easy the rest of the race and only push with the left foot and not pull. Tail winds helped me get my average up even though I think on a good shoe day, I could of done better. What would you do differently?: Make sure cleats are nice and tight before the race. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Was 24 seconds faster in my T2 this race than my first race. Felt good, but needed more water. What would you do differently?: Drink more on the bike. ![]() Run
Comments: A lot of the houses along the run put on their sprinklers, I don't know if that was for the runners or their lawn but I appreciated it. One family was handing out dixie cups of water which I really appreciated also! I felt so tired and worn out on this run I thought it would never end. What would you do differently?: Practice, practice, practice! I hate running! I will say this run was average because it was only 6 seconds slower than my last race but I had been training for 8:45 miles not 9:45. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked a little bit. Felt like losing the contents of my stomach but held it in. Met with family ate a little fruit and had some soda. What limited your ability to perform faster: My legs were just so tired after the swim. Event comments: I enjoyed this race a lot! I ended up leaving before it was all over because I headed up north with family for some holiday fun. I ended up placing 3rd in my age group in the Novice category so I missed out on hearing my name. Bummer. I'll never leave a race early again. I'm done racing for the summer but I might try and volunteer at a few races still this summer. I love this sport! Last updated: 2010-04-17 12:00 AM

Got up at 450 and headed to site around 515. Was about a 45 minute drive from home. Drank water and ate some trail mix
30 min before race start I put on wetsuit and checked out the water. I knew I wanted to do some swimming because of my poor swim time in my last race.
