Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5:15, made a pb&j, loaded up the gear and headed out. Set up in the transition area nice and early, only to realize I had forgotten my bike shoes. Luckily, I live about 15 minutes away and was able to head home, pick them up, and get back in time.
Event warmup:

Running to and from the car when I realized i forgot my shoes. Dunked my head in the water and swam out past the breakers and back about 10 minutes before my wave started.

Getting to the first buoy felt fine, but my shoulders were burning for the rest of the swim, and my form suffered because of it. Really need to start getting more pool (and ocean) time in.

Long run into T1, and my bare feet, which have grown soft from lack of contact with the ground, slowed me down. Wetsuit came off easily.

I liked the run course. Again, given lack of training, ~8:00 miles is what I should expect. Had some minor side stitches. Passed a few folks, then got out-kicked in the last 50m by someone in my AG. D'oh.
