Pre-race routine:

This race started at 10 AM. In bed at 10 PM up at 6:30 AM. Coffee, banana, peanut butter on a bagel, some EFS drink and water. Granola bar at race site.
Event warmup:

Short jog, maybe 5 mins. Short swim, maybe 5 mins. Got the HR going and I felt ready.
Swim
  • 27m 47s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 51s / 100 meters
Comments:

I didn't feel as though I pushed hard enough on this swim. But the water was rough. My goggles fogged up real bad and at the 1st buoy, I couldn't see anything. I had to rinse them out, then they were fine.
What would you do differently?:

Use some anti-fog stuff and swim harder.
Transition 1
  • 01m 51s
Comments:

Still not great at this. Had to take off my Garmin watch since it would not fit under my wetsuit sleeves. The suit actully came off easily. I used a lot of body glide.
What would you do differently?:

Practice this
Bike
  • 1h 04m 27s
  • 24 miles
  • 22.34 mile/hr
Comments:

Very happy with this. I felt really good on the bike. New helmet, new bike, new wheels. All fast stuff, and I didn't taper for this. But I put EFS in my Aero Bottle and didn't carry any water. MISTAKE!!! My stomach was getting really upset. I need water on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

See above.
Transition 2
  • 01m 39s
Comments:

My bike fell of the rack, and that threw me off. Then I forgot my race belt and had to turn around.
What would you do differently?:

Practice
Run
  • 47m 31s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 39s  min/mile
Comments:

First hard brick of the season. My stomach was still a little upset from the bike. So I drank water each chance I had to dilute the EFS in my system. This helped a lot. 5 miles is all I had in me. But I did average 7:41 / mile which for me is a PR at this distance. I'll take it. And my legs were pretty tired from a tough training week.
What would you do differently?:

Keep on training.
Post race
Warm down:

FeXY tent. Went for another ride in the afternoon. Beer mile and BBQ at the FeXY house that night.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Early season C race. I am very happy with this result.

Event comments:

Great early season race. Weather was beautiful. Fun at the FeXY house.

First time I wore a HR monitor in a race. I was going to try to hit ZN 4 for a while. But I actually averaged Zn 4.4 and maxed at Zn 4.9. But I didn't feel as though I pushed as hard as possible.
