Swim
Comments: Over drove on the run in, broke both seals on the goggles, stood up and drained then took off. Started out strong, the way out was really good, never saw another green cap, thus no drafting. Chop was a bit rough but the way out was smooth sailing and in a good direction although the chop was pushing me back towards shore. What would you do differently?: Work on sighting, especially on the way in, push a bit harder, time was a bit slower than normal with a wetsuit due to chop, but overall performance was sweet. Transition 1
Comments: Long run to transition, tried to recover some, but not sprint it out, wetsuit got stuck on my ankles, but everything else went really well. What would you do differently?: Figure out how to remove a wetsuit! Bike
Comments: Wattage 207, fairly low, and MPH showed but the head wind was rough. I climbed mostly well, gear changes were smooth, ran out of gearing at some points, but used it as active recovery. What would you do differently?: Push harder, need a mental breakthrough on the bike, plus some harder efforts during the week. Transition 2
Comments: All was well here, nothing too eventful What would you do differently?: Learn to jump off while coasting in Run
Comments: Solid effort on the run, I was not going to get run down by some freak of nature runner, so I pushed hard the first and third, could have been stronger in the second, time for the course was solid, almost to my goal, not bad after riding 14 miles too. What would you do differently?: Push harder the whole time. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Wind, lack of biking recently showed, good gains though, keep building, elite soon? Event comments: Good race, lots of kid volunteers, but they are able bodies to be thrown somewhere. Wish for 1 more water stop headed out of T2, but outside of that, great race.
