Run
Comments: Worst 10 mile time ever! Legs felt drained at mile 5. Took 2 enduralytes around mile 5.5. Finished both gatorade bottles on fuel belt, and took water and gatorade probably 3 times each extra. Vince caught me around mile 9 and we stayed together for around a 1/4 mile, but there was no reason for me to keep pushing it, so I let him go ahead of me. He finished 7th in his age group. What would you do differently?: Perhaps start out a little slower if I knew this was going to just turn into a training run. Post race
Warm down: stretched, walked/jogged back to car. Drank water and couple cups of gatorade, ate banana and soft pretzel and yogurt. Watched people puking and passing out on way to water table. What limited your ability to perform faster: heat & humidity. possibly sore legs from tough softball practice on Wednesday. Event comments: Plenty of water & gatorade stations and volunteers. Fire hydrants cooling off runners was excellent. Majority of people (including myself) ran through every one. Last updated: 2010-04-21 12:00 AM

Woke 4:40. Got wawa coffee and gatorade. Only drank half of coffee. Ate a banana. Drove to sports complex. Got on express train probably before 6 to the start no problem. Filled my 2 8oz fuel belt bottles of gatorade (1 had 2 drops of creatine too) on the train. Sat a long time at the field. Filled empty gatorade bottle with water from the water table and drank that while waiting.
Walked a couple laps and jogged one lap. Had GU gel and 5 drops creatine 15 minutes before start. Took 1 enduralyte about hour before start, 2 more about 20 minutes before start. Stretched legs.
