Transition 1
Comments: Transition Times not reported separately. Embedded in leg times. Bike
Comments: Time includes Transition. Per my Garmin, I averaged 18mph. Which was sketchy, last 8 miles I needed to open my rear brakes because my tire was getting warped again. What would you do differently?: Keep conditioning. Get more reliable gear, buying a new set of wheels today. Buy a tool-kit and manual. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I had terrible non-athletic related issues. I took one pit-stop for GI issues. It took me about 2 miles to find my legs and rhythm. My biggest problem was blisters and chafing. What would you do differently?: More BRICKS. Wear my Tri-top on long runs so I can learn all of the Chafe spots. The areas that I used Body Glide were fine, but I discovered too many more. Make sure that I get the sand between my toes. (I use a squirt bottle in transition, but I missed some sandy spots. Post race
Warm down: Walk around with family for about a mile. What limited your ability to perform faster: Overall conditioning. GI issues. I chafed in places that I don't want to mention, AND I USED BODY GLIDE AND CHAMOIS BUTTER! I still cannot figure out how one body part got chafed. First Oly. Event comments: My first Oly, and I did not like it. In Sprints, my pain is from exertion, but my pain in this race was all embarrassing stuff like GI, blisters, chafing, etc. (Especially when I used Body Glide and Chamois Butter on the parts that I identified as problem areas. These were all new today. I am a recreational Triathlete trying to get in shape. As a USAT qualifier, the Oly was definitely for a more hard-core set. Last updated: 2010-04-21 12:00 AM

Tried to ride the day before.
Broke spokes and rushed to get to a bike shop.
No one would take it, so I paid a H.S. kid cash to work on it in his garage the night before.
Ride-able, but not fixed.
Rode 6.5 miles to event from hotel.
