Run
Comments: wow, that was hilly. had to drink lots to counter-act the side effects of the Sudafed. was down to a walk for 2 brief stretches in last 2-3 miles, first time on the hill coming out of Piedmont Park, then also about 1/2 mile later. Then pulled it together to power thru running to the end. What would you do differently?: Just like Disney, kinda fell apart in the last couple of miles of the race. I was maintaining an 11 minute mile pace for the first 10 miles. Slowed considerably in the last 2 miles. need to build stamina. Post race
Warm down: got cold fast once I finished. wondered around for a few minutes, then found Mike and left to get on Marta for ride home. What limited your ability to perform faster: I wanted to improve my time from Disney (2:28), but figured that was a long shot given the hillyness of the course and my sinus/allergy issues. I was about 3 minutes slower. I was happy that I felt better/stronger for longer compared to Disney, but I still need more stamina for the last 2-3 miles. Event comments: just once I want to run one of these in good weather! I'm starting to sense a curse on me and half marathons. Last updated: 2010-04-21 12:00 AM
