Comments:

I went in with an aggressive goal of bettering my current pr of 2:59:43 and really had no back up plan. My stomach felt full early on, but I still felt as if I hadn't drank quite enough fluids. The goal was to run at a steady 6:50 pace from start to finish.
By the half mark, I was right at 6:50, but my legs were already sore from the downhill pounding. I was able to maintain the pace until the hills at mile 17, and slowed gradually until the finish.
When the race was over, I swore off marathoning forever.
Now, I think I will book my hotel for Boston 2011 for a little date with REVENGE.

What would you do differently?:

Drink more before 8am on the bus ride and at the village.
Post race
Warm down:

Caught my first cramp as I crossed the finish line. Hobbled to the family meeting area.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Downhill quad pounding.

Event comments:

I had always heard how tricky this course is. But, it's just one of those things you have to learn for yourself.
This course is to be respected.
