Set up station, tried to stay hydrated.

Splashed around in the water for two minutes before the swim start- sooo, no warm-up.

This was long! Wetsuit was stuck a little. Also, I still don't have a race belt, so getting my tri top on was nearly impossible.

Good bike- I passed a lot of people. That was fun. My weekly long ride is basically this course, so I was familiar with it and comfortable going up the massive hill.

Didn't know the run was uphill for the first half- that was an unpleasant surprise! But luckily my shins didn't act up. Tendons right above my ankles seized up a little, so I stopped and stretched for about ten seconds. Nothing too bad. I think only one girl from my age group passed me. Being in the sun on the way back was a little tough, but it wasn't super hot.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Maybe practice the course beforehand.

Warm down:

Walked around, got some water, talked to Laura (elbi99), found my dad, drank some beer, got free stuff.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The swim. Oh, the swim.

Event comments:

I think my performance is inversely related to how much I had been dreading the race the week before. I wasn't excited about this race beforehand. I'm not really looking forward to my Olympic in two weeks, so hopefully that means I'll do well!
