Comments: Drank 1/2 cup of water at most of the earlier water stops, and dumped some on my head. The last few I started drinking more. Took vanilla Hammergel at mile 11. I felt as though I could have ran faster the first 10 miles, but I stuck with Jamie until then. I was feeling really really good, until I went faster the last 3 miles- slightly nauseated at the end. It was sooo sunny and hot that last 3 miles was rough What would you do differently?: drink more water earlier- more thorough sunscreen application Post race

Had a pre-race meal of healthy fruits/veggies day prior- helped with nerves! Day of- bowl of cereal with rice milk, and some grapes 1 1/2 hours prior, banana 30 minutes prior
biked to race, walked to start, waited in line for potty
