Swim
Comments: I was so sleepy I felt tired for the first 2/3 of the swim but managed to keep a good pace. I COULDN'T FIND A SINGLE FISH. I don't know what was wrong with everybody, they were too far off to the right trying to hit the intermediate buoy (which drifted about 25 yards to the right). I aimed straight for the turn one and never lost sight of it. Of course I stayed legal and stayed left of all my buoys but I can't believe that nobody noticed that. My swim energies came a little too late, I started to go strong after I turned the last side of the triangle. It was still a great swim and I'm proud of it. What would you do differently?: SLEEP! Transition 1
Comments: Loooong T1, almost a tenth of a mile between the beach and the transition but who cares! everybody did the same. As usual, I was dizzy and somewhat disoriented in transition so I didn't do too well but it's ok. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: Wow I couldn't believe the numbers. I posted the second fastest bike split in the AG and 18th overall. It's unreal after being the ugly duckling on the bike for so long. I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THE TIME. I can't wait for a fast bike course to see my times. The only one person that went faster than me in my AG was only 25" faster. What would you do differently?: Kidding? Absolutely nothing. Picture perfect, awesome, incredible. Transition 2
Comments: Uneventful T2, everything went well. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: I never looked at my splits until mile 5 and just went by perceived exertion. I did ok but I feel I could have squeezed an extra minute thirty if I wanted to. My legs are definitely heavier than last year due to all the work on the bike, but I'm paying a couple of minutes on the run. What would you do differently?: Push a little harder after the turnaround. Post race
Warm down: My buddy German was waiting for me at the finish, I didn't think he was coming but he showed up and we drank some "mate". Talked to my teammates too. What limited your ability to perform faster: A slow run and lack of good sleep. Event comments: Some of the volunteers were just standing in the corners without saying a word about turning or doing anything at all. On the funny side, the first wave took off two minutes early due to a misunderstanding and some were turned around and let go thirty seconds later. Last updated: 2010-04-24 12:00 AM

Drove up to the site, half asleep. I only had four hours of bedtime. Talked to some teammates and got on the beach.
Nothing at all.
