Run
Comments: Ran with my cousin from San Diego... while neither of us had adequately trained for this run, it turns out her "I think I can do 10-11 m/m" statements were really not even close to the truth. :) So - we went slow. Slow enough at times that I could have walked the pace that she was running. Still - very enjoyable to run with someone rather than alone, so I'm not complaining! The goal of this day wasn't to PR or to even hit a particular time ... it was a social event. :) What would you do differently?: I was running to enjoy the day and the time spent with my cousin, so I wouldn't change a thing. Post race
Warm down: Walked around the post-race stuff and then walked back to the hotel. Because I didn't run very hard, the little stretching I did was more than adequate to prevent soreness. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not applicable! Event comments: I really enjoy this race -- it's my third time doing it, in fact. The race is well-organized and I love all the bands along the course. The course has enough hills to make it interesting, but all the fans that come out take your mind off the pain! I'll be back next year! Last updated: 2006-01-03 12:00 AM

Got up around 4:30, got ready and glommed onto the free food in the lobby of the hotel. Got my bagel and then my sister drove my cousin and myself to the start line.
Portajohn lines. Light stretching. Usual stuff.
