Swim
Comments: Went off fast. Waay to fast. I got into a group of swimmers and was being kicked left right and centre. I could have dropped back but no. For some reason I decided to try to get out front, and suceeded. The first 100m bouy came up very fast. so did the turn bouy. I knew I was toast from then on. The swim back was a slow plod. But I kept moving. I switched to breast stroke a couple of times to navigate. All in all it was an OK swim. I was even coming up on some of the slowcaoches from the first wave. What would you do differently?: Swimming with so many people for so long is a relatively new experience for me. I stood up a bit too early and waded in. I should have swam a bit further Transition 1
Comments: One heel got ever so slightly stuck removing my wetsuit otherwise no probs. Bike
Comments: Why isn't there an "excellent" for your performance. I rocked!!! I got in a zone and just turned those pedals over and watched the road zip past below me. It was my best bike ride ever. What would you do differently?: Abso-bloody-lutely nothing Transition 2
Comments: No problems Run
Comments: Last race of the season. I just decided to give as much as I could for as long as I could. Which was for about 3.05 miles. I had no strength left for a kick and someone sprinted past me for 50th overall. This year the first woman didn't pass me until 1 mile into the run. What would you do differently?: There's nothing wrong with 7.5 min miles after a 21mph bike ride. Post race
Warm down: Hung out with Dave, Jeff Mark and Kelly. Got our free Ice creams. There was a problem with my chip timing as it took forever for me to appear on the results. What limited your ability to perform faster: Pointless question. I was 5 minutes faster than last year. Still not enough to get me a top 10 AG place though Event comments: This is my favourite race of the year. Without a doubt. The support from the townspeople is wonderful. Free ice cream at the finish. What more could you ask for. See you all same time next year Last updated: 2006-01-04 12:00 AM
