Run
Comments: Felt real good through 8. Knew I would be in trouble later on at that point. Elected to keep pace because once I slow, there's no getting back to pace for me. At 22 right quad started to cramp. I had 3.15 easily within reach, but was worried about cramp and possibility of having to walk. Elected to pull back and ensure 3.20 time. What would you do differently?: Pacing. I need to learn to negative split. This goes back to training. Training focus on the long runs and increasing muscular endurance. Also - need to work on nutrition. I lose a TON of sodium. Face was completely white with salt at end. Post race
Warm down: Light stretching. Waited for message - too impatient, so I left after 20 minutes. i cannot stay still after a race - need to keep moving. What limited your ability to perform faster: Pacing, muscular endurance. Event comments: Great race org. Perfect weather and course. If you want a PR - this is your course. Course is beautiful. Volunteers, aid stations etc - perfect! Last updated: 2010-04-27 12:00 AM
