Swim
Comments: I believe the swim was short. With the long run up to transition and knowing my swimming, I think this is a touch fast. I could be wrong. I started in the front to the left. Caught the wave in front of us. There were 4 of us in our Female 30-44 wave that came out at the same time. 1 was obviously in my age group. What would you do differently?: This was one of my best open water swims. I felt strong. Didn't swallow water. I just don't like how shallow the water is. It was definitely better than when I did it 2 years ago. I didn't even mind the long run to transition. I didn't like getting bunched up with some of the olympic swimmers at the end of the course, but it wasn't too bad. I had NO contact. I don't know that I could do anything different. Being a good swimmer - I don't draft. There is never anyone faster than me in front of me. Transition 1
Comments: I pulled off my bandage and sprayed it with bactine. It was a tad chilly so I put a shirt on. This slowed me a bit. Socks and shoes went smoothly. What would you do differently?: I don't know how to get faster. I still am slow here. Bike
Comments: This felt really good. I worked hard. Rob told me to go like hell, so I did. It was definitely not 12 miles. My garmin locked up so I can't tell you the exact mileage, but I KNOW it was short. That's okay. I did well anyways. What would you do differently?: I honestly don't think I would change what I did. I worked out there today. Transition 2
Comments: This seems slow, but I did transition pretty well. I put my hat on while I was running. Same with the race belt. What would you do differently?: Wade yelled at me to get bungee laces. Maybe that's what I could do different. Run
Comments: I guess I should have pushed this a bit. I did not get passed by one person in this run. I did A LOT of passing. I am capable of running about 4 minutes faster, but no more than that. Overall I felt good though. What would you do differently?: Push harder in the woods maybe? I just kept aiming to pass the people in front of me. I took 2 water breaks, but they were brief. Maybe I didn't need them. Post race
Warm down: Water, apples, walked a bit and watched my friends come in. Did try some of the beer, but it still isn't a good post-race fuel for me. My nephew was being baptized at noon in Lake Geneva, so I didn't have time to wait around for awards. I still haven't stretched either and I've been done for 12 hours now. Oh - For Females overall, I was 12/172 What limited your ability to perform faster: I don't know. This was a top notch race for me. I think that had the weather been sunny/hotter/more humid - I would have done worse. Event comments: They have really improved this race since the 1st year. I like that they divided it into Male waves and Female waves. I don't know that I like the olympic starting before the sprint, but being in the later wave of the sprint - didn't affect me as much as some of the earlier waves. I wish the bike was more true to the posted distance. The run is tough. This is a tougher race than others I've done so far. I am VERY pleased and am glad that my friends talked me into doing this one again. Last updated: 2010-04-30 12:00 AM

Walked from the car on M to transition :)
