Swim
Comments: I have never done an OWS before, I tried to not freak myself out my telling myself, to remain calm, go slow, check your breathing, stay out of the group, you will see no line at the bottom, it will be ok. IT DIDN'T WORK!!!! I totally freaked out, had a mouth full of water, when I first started, could not get my face back in the water. I could not do a backstroke, or a breast stroke. basically floated on my back the entire race. My heart race felt like it was through the roof. It wasn't good! I don't know how I made it out in 9 minutes......... What would you do differently?: Practice OWS................ Transition 1
Comments: not sure, no timing chips, was using own watch. What would you do differently?: no gloves, less nutritional supplements, not needed Bike
Comments: My goal for the race was to catch this dude on a mountain bike that passed me within the first few miles, "nice pace" he said. I have no idea what my "pace" was, because I still don't have a computer on my bike. Anyway, I never did pass him...................rrrrrrrrrrr felt tired the first half, more energy the second. Transition 2
Comments: no time, felt ok with the transition, had to fix my hair (I know I'm a girl), but it was plastered to my head. gross Run
Comments: tired until 1 1/2 miles, then felt ok, could not go faster What would you do differently?: way too much crap in my pockets from the bike, when I started running, was jiggling all over. annoying. ate a gel just to get it out of my pocket. Post race
Event comments: This was my first tri race, I guess it was a good course, swim would have sucked anywhere. I like chip timing though. I calculated my time different, so not sure exactly what my times were exactly. Last updated: 2010-05-01 12:00 AM
