Comments:

Had to stop like a dozen times to clear my fogged goggles...my other goggles broke the day before at a swim clinic and my spare SUCKED!!!

As I was getting on my bike, a guy said, "7th woman, 7 min behind..go get em!"...not so sure about the timing chips/system at this race, as the results have me as the 29th woman out of the water! Ha...my friend was on shore and said I had to be in top 10 women. I am usually much better in the swim. Whatever.
What would you do differently?:

GOGGLES!

Comments:

Coach said "take it easy the first half of the bike...it's going to be a long day." I had a good bike but never felt I PUSHED it...got a little tired about mile 56...and still had 4 miles to go! UGH. Hate that.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

No time for Transition....who knows!!
Run
  • 2h 30m 20s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 11m 29s  min/mile
Comments:

Oh.my. Death march. I ran, I walked, I stopped and drank way to much cold ice water...and dumped it on my head...and in my suit...people were dropping like flies. I knew I was drinking too much, but I was on fire, not in a good way! By mile 2, I was dizzy and not sure I would finish...started damage control....sipping my infinit concentrate and coke and ice water. I curse this run!!
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

I was in town for a training camp...Thursday ran 16 miles, friday biked 3 hilly hours and did a swim clinic...saturday stayed in bed fighting the cold that arrived via sore throat on thursday evening. Woke up sunday feeling like I could race, but knowing it might not be so great!! Glad I finished and did relatively well....relatively!!

Event comments:

This was harder than Ironman!! WOW. Brutal. I ended up 10/66 female, 42/239 overall..and it would appear only 170/239 people finished the race...which means there were 69 DNFs!!! That's like almost 1/3 :o
