Run
Comments: feeling pretty good about my run fitness this year and it it showed as I ran sub - 4 minute K's on this run, very happy with the results! I also made sure I was at the front of my wave to avoid having to pass too many people which worked out pretty good. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 1
Comments: I'm afraid to run with my bike across the grass after a race last year when my chain jumped off my bike, so I always take it easy now. Got into my shoes pretty easily since I left them partially done up so all I had to do was slip them on. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: see above What would you do differently?: buy a tri bike! Transition 2
Comments: T-2 went pretty good except for the fact that I didn't loosen my bike shoes off enough before taking them off and I came very close to pulling my calf muscle. I could almost feel it rolling up the back of my leg, I could see my race coming to an end! For some reason though, it seemed fine, I got lucky! What would you do differently?: Make sure to loosen shoes off more! Run
Comments: obviously slower than my first run, the heat was definitely starting to get to me (and everyone else) at this point. My legs felt pretty good but I had to slow it down a bit to avoid spontaneously combusting! Post race
Warm down: lots of fluid intake, some stretching and walking around to cool off, got some food and just relaxed. What limited your ability to perform faster: heat was a bit of a factor on the second run, other than that I raced my race and was happy with the result. Event comments: overall good race, that's why I do it every year! Very happy with my results especially on the first run, good to see my training is paying off! Last updated: 2010-05-06 12:00 AM
