Pre-race routine:

Really different. I had the family and we stayed in st.francisville so we had to take the ferry to get to the race at 6 am going across the ms river at 6 am on a ferry is really cool!
Event warmup:

ran about .5 mile and stretched.
Swim
  • 17m 28s
  • 875 yards
  • 01m / 100 yards
Comments:

Actually really happy with the swim. I know its not fast but it was for me. I've never broke 20 min for this distance and I can tell it was better just by coming out with the pack. usually I'm after the main pack.
What would you do differently?:

Try to actually push myself and focus more on stroke.
Transition 1
  • 00m 47s
Comments:

Had to run bike up a very steep hill to mount or I could mount at bottom.
What would you do differently?:

:-) go faster
Bike
  • 51m 31s
  • 18.64 miles
  • 21.71 mile/hr
Comments:

Pretty happy. Hind sight is 20/20 so knowing how the race finished I would have pushed harder.
What would you do differently?:

Push it.
Transition 2
  • 00m 27s
Comments:

Seemed quick i'm happy with this. it was the 3rd fastest of the race overall.
What would you do differently?:

not sure it was pretty smooth.
Run
  • 20m
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

Should have went harder. but honestly it felt good and I just stayed in a rythm. Yeah I could have gone faster but its a little late now.
What would you do differently?:

Make myself go harder
Post race
Warm down:

quick jog and played with keegan and the wife at a little playground.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

my mentality. need to be a killer

Event comments:

Great race and great venue. I rate it a 4 only because post race they had no one watching bikes 2 miles away. My wife simply walked up and got my scott plasma while I was at awards. How do they know that is her bike? she wasn't a racer, nor did she have my number or anything. This was their only mishap.
