Swim
Comments: I slipped going down the ramp the had set up and cut my finger pretty badly. Didn't notice it much at the time. I got in the water, and the typical thing happened to me. I got nervous, and started breathing fast. I had to breathe every other stroke, instead of every 4-5, and I didn't hit my rythm until about 200 meters to go. The one at a time start was nice, I didn't hit too much traffic, and people were generally polite in the water. The canal water wasn't nearly as gross as I thought it would be. Much better than my last triathlon. What would you do differently?: Try to figure out how to control my breathing. I could have swam much better if I had pretended it was a pool on a normal workout day. Also, I'd like to not drink as much canal water next time! Transition 1
Comments: Someone moved my bike and my stuff. I got there early to get an end spot, and when I got to T1, my bike was moved down, and someone knocked my helmet, glasses, and race belt off, and I couldn't find them!!! What would you do differently?: Stay at transition longer in the morning to make sure my stuff stayed setup correctly! Bike
Comments: I felt like I was going slow, but my average speed looked good. I felt like I was out of energy on the bike. Most of the people passing me were on carbon bikes, though! Gears were hard to reach (on frame). What would you do differently?: Nutrition the week before. Practice with a faster group in training. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Gotten feet out of shoes instead of unclipping. Also, counted bike racks as I ran in. I had to run back and recount! Run
Comments: Ran too fast, had to walk through water stops. Accidentally drank strong Gatorade, yuck! Threw up said Gatorade What would you do differently?: More bricks in training. Wear a watch and pay attention to time!!! Look at water to make sure it's clear!!! Post race
Warm down: Walked around, went to first aid for my gash on my finger. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training time, I think. Event comments: Loved the area and the event! I'll be coming back next year if my schedule allows it! Last updated: 2010-05-11 12:00 AM

We stayed at a freinds house the night before, and I got to the transition area bout 6:50, stuff had to be setup before 7:45, as the Olympic event started at 7:30. Lines at the bathrooms were long- 15 minute wait, so I wnr to an area hotel and used their facilities. I got to our start area around 8:15, my start time was 7:45.
Light jog, some static and dynamic stretching.
