Comments: I'm prepping now for my next OWS! What would you do differently?: train :P Also, navigate and B-E Aggressive :) Transition 1
Comments: No problems I can remember What would you do differently?: I'm a transition ANIMAL! ;) actually I was too lax. Bike
Comments: Ew. I should have known the course. No excuse. Also...I need a bike computer. The Garmin watch deal is no good during a race. You can't be messing with buttons on your wrist...also it wasn't working right. I felt like I was on a Sunday ride. Paced w/the wrong person and was quite a but slower than usual. I plan to kick butt next year :) What would you do differently?: Know the course, have a bike computer, go all out. Transition 2
Comments: 1:18...what's not to love? What would you do differently?: Eat more chews. Run
Comments: I don't care about the rank here. This was great for me! What would you do differently?: Nothing...I'm really proud of this...I'm only going to get faster ;) Post race
Warm down: Stretched, chatted with some amazing folks (Kathy, Becky, Steve) that I have come to know through these events. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. Event comments: More vendors, please! :) Last updated: 2010-05-13 12:00 AM

My pre-race routine was, in my opinion, too lax. I printed directions for this even (well, my husband did ;) at midnight the night before. I celebrated my daughter's fifth birthday with family and fireworks. I did check last year's calorie intake guidelines and took in the 100 cal.s/hour...peanut butter bagel, coffee and I readied some chews.
I arrived on the scene, parked my car and proceeded to check-in. I multi-tasked by looking through my bag o' info while waiting in the potty line. I've been spoiled at other events b/c I expected a station where I could fill my tires. This didn't exist. A very kind man pumped up my tires and I was pretty ready to go. I jogged around a bit and familiarized myself witht he in and outs of the transition station. I rolled my bike socks and put my sunglasses in my helmet. I tested the temp. of the water (nice!). I had a general feeling of unpreparedness though...probably because I had NOT trained for the bike or swim!
