Swim
Comments: i started my watch exactly when the timer started and checked it as soon as i got out of the water and my actual swim time was 13:20. the other 36 seconds were spent running/stripping my way up to T1. Great swim for me though! finished it 2 minutes faster than anticipated. What would you do differently?: ahh, nothing. im happy with it. Transition 1
Comments: shaved 21 seconds from last year and i even had a full wetsuit on instead of that shorty john thing from before. Bike
Comments: last year i biked this in 61:10 and hoped to do it in 59:xx this year. so coming in another 2 minutes faster than expected makes me even more happy. What would you do differently?: lose a few more pounds and ride more hills. i could gain steadily on the flats but lose ground on the hills. not sure what was more the problem, the flab or not enough bike riding..... Transition 2
Comments: about 10 seconds faster than last years time. Run
Comments: i didnt feel like i was running a sub 24 minute 5k, thats for sure. i did not practice any bricks yet this year. felt terrible first 2 miles. after climbing the hill near mile 3 at a near death crawl, i felt much better that 3rd mile and cranked it out to the finish. knocked off exactly 2 minuted from my run time last year. i got concerned that i have to quadruple these distances for savageman and somehow survive and finish. What would you do differently?: practice more bricks. suck it up. Post race
Warm down: drank water. got pics with family. enjoyed the feeling of completing another race. What limited your ability to perform faster: not enough biking. of the miles of logged biking this year, not even 100 of them have been on the road. not enough brick practice. Event comments: if they get my timing and name fixed and in the right category, i'll be much happier. Last updated: 2010-05-14 12:00 AM
