My wetsuit got stuck on my feet. One of a few places that I could have made up the 0:20 that was between me and the podium.
What would you do differently?:

Practice taking off my wetsuit.

Once again went out a little hard. Overall it was a good ride though. My aerobottle got all cockeyed and I couldn't reach the straw. Made me a little thirsty coming into T2...
What would you do differently?:

Train. The little training I did in May rarely involved the bike. I need to make that my focus for the next few months. Secure my bottle better.

The way the dismount was set up didn't really allow me to get my feet out before dismount. Crowding didn't let me jump off.

Know the course better so I can make sure I have time to get my feet out.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training. Apathy after my half in early May, and a hectic life for the later half made training a low priority for me unfortunately.

I missed my first podium by 0:20. A lot of what ifs ran through my head, but I obviously need to work on taking my wetsuit off. I could have made up some more time on the bike, but I know I could have pushed the run harder. I just put it on cruise control for the last half.

I guess I just need need to race the whole race, and not pull up when it starts to hurt.

Event comments:

Fun local, race. They run a super sprint at the same time. Good post race food. Got an awesome surprise when I found out Team Hoyt was racing with us!
