Pre-race routine:

I did this tri last year and it was my first ever so I decided this year that I needed to drag a few of my girlfriends into their first tri. So this year my pre-race routine was hanging out with my gals with was really fun. I was not stressed at all about this race, my only goal was to have a good time.
Event warmup:

Nothing, went into the water dry which was a little unnerving but was fine. Didn't even have a long walk from the car like last year as my wonderful boyfriend dropped us off and parked as we set-up our transitions.

Comments:

The organizer had us go in when we wanted and our time started when we walked over a mat as opposed to wave starts. At first I was a little skeptical but it worked nicely and there wasn't the big clusters of people to swim past though there still was a little bit. I'm not a fast swimmer anyway so not a big deal for me. I took a ton of time off my swim time from last year but I had no idea what I was doing last year so I couldn't have done any worse...still I'm pleased.
What would you do differently?:

I can't believe I am going to say this but I would have started a little earlier to not get caught behind the slower swimmers and breast strokers which was me last year!

Good transition for me. Everything came off ok and got socks, shoes and helmet on pretty quick. Did not really think about anything just did it.
What would you do differently?:

nothing, everything worked out well. Well I did have a little difficult getting gloves on as I was riding...don't really know what to do about that except not wear them which is what I wanted by BF insisted.

Bike went well too. Kinda getting cranky about the people riding on the left of the lane even when they are not passing. Had to go into other lane many times to pass. Ride to the right, pass on the left should be posted on signs along the course!
What would you do differently?:

Good and fun ride. Very scenic, not stressing at all. Did hit the speed bumps to hard coming back into park...ouch.

Pretty good transition. Had tough time taking off gloves and could not get hay on very well, but my time was good.

I felt tired and had heavy legs starting the run. Was trying to pace myself on the way out. I think I did ok, got my rhythm on the way back and ended strong.
What would you do differently?:

I'm happy with my run. Did not push myself too hard at the start and finished nicely.
Post race
Warm down:

Just had some water and a banana and waited for my gals to come in with my boyfriend taking pics of all.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Got caught behind a few people on the swim and the ride. Will start a little earlier next time.

Event comments:

Really had a good time at this race. Well organized, on time, friendly volunteers and good friends. Will definitely do again next year. A great tri for the first timer and I love that while competitive it is also very supportive and all the ladies are cheering for each other.
