Comments:

DNFed.

I knew I wasn't finishing the race because I wasn't doing the run. So I had a leisurely bike, tested to see if I could use the on course energy drink as fuel. Last year the Gatorade made me sick, but I'd been training with it all spring in the hopes that I could use it for nutrition during Ironnam.

I took the short cut and cut off about 16 miles of headwind. It wasn't worth it to me to suffer through the headwind. I also found out that yes, I can tolerate some Gatorade, but I still cramp if I drink too much.

Nothing.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I had a just diagnosed bone spur in my ankle that prevented me from running most of the spring. Since I am writing the race recap almost 4 months after the race. It also turns out that I had a torn ligament in my ankle that contributed to my ankle discomfort.

Event comments:

I love this race. I might not do the half every year, but I'll always come back for this event.
