Swim
Comments: Passed three people, no one passed me. Out of the water at 6:47, over the mat at 7:06. This validates my swimming. I don't know what it is about Lake Kristi that throws it off. What would you do differently?: nothing. well maybe pushed a little harder, but it was good Transition 1
Comments: the official website lumps T1 and T2 in with the bike. not sure why since they had mats at each end of the transition area. maybe a computer malfunction. Anyway, a good T1. didn't sit down this time, probably cause it's shorter swim. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: This based upon the bike computer time. the rank is based on everything lumped together, which isn't much help on the analysis. Pushed the whole bike. Passed 7 people, no one passed me. Almost got #8, but didn't. Backed off around mile 7-8. I looked down and notice that the lever on the fron wheel had rotated around 180 degrees so I panicked that it was coming loose and that if I hit a big enough bump, the wheel might come off. So I started on focusing on a smooth ride, not a direct line. Overall, though good What would you do differently?: make really sure the wheel was on securely Transition 2
Comments: again, this based upon the watch and the bike computer. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: this is where everything is screwy on several levels. First, my watch as the exact finish time as the results show for the overall race. My swim split is off by 2 seconds. The results seem to have shifted 34 seconds from my bike and transition times to the run. I have 22:34 on my watch and I know I hit the watch on the pads. Not that it matters, because the other level of screwy is that my runs are sucking ass right now. I should be around 21 minutes based upon what I can usually do. Now part of that is training. I need to get back on the plan and do the correct intensity. Second is I have to get my bike fitness better. What would you do differently?: pushed even more, though it might have caused a blow up. Work on the bike Post race
Warm down: got a massage on the legs (Yay!) then walked back out the course to see Wilson come in. I was 3rd OA Masters male (would have been first in AG) William was first in AG (and 1:20 behind me) Wilson was 3rd in AG on his first adult tri. What limited your ability to perform faster: bike fitness, run training Event comments: Overall a good race to participate in. They seem to have the swim seeds better than other races as there was not as much bunching up in my part of the group as there can be. Bike is really 10 miles, not 20k as advertised. Run is good. Great local race. Wish they broke out the T1 and T2 times. Last updated: 2010-05-23 12:00 AM

Got the cars on and in the bike the night before. Both William and Wilson raced as well, so we had transport all three bikes. Got up at my usual 4:30 to get everything going. Got to the race site around 6:45 , got our packets and then set up Wilson's transition area and mine. William knows what to do
Little ride and run to get the legs loosened up. They weren't happy, so I did a lot of stretching. I hadn't done anything all week, so it was going to be interesting to see how the body performed
