Swim
Comments: Great course well protected and the water was a good temp. I did not wear a wetsuit and I was fine. What would you do differently?: The only thing I would do differently is actually train for this portion of the event. According to my stopwatch I did the swim in about 11 minutes which was 3:30 minutes behind the best time in the field. I was happy with the swim. Transition 1
Comments: this is a section where I could gain a lot of time in my next event. i will purchase tri bike shoes with just one strap. My current shoes 3 straps. I struggled a lot with putting the bid number on. Nice time I will just have a belt I can snap on and go. What would you do differently?: Practice this transition a lot and purchase some new equipment. Bike
Comments: Naturally I am a cyclist. This road course I think is more hilly than a normal tri road course. I have a road bike and I was able to pass the tri bikes on the hills but caught me after the hills. Very challenging course I loved it. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Again this is a area I will work on but this transition was much smoother than T1 What would you do differently?: Not much Run
Comments: I twisted my left ankle when it went from paved road to the path. My run time was horrible. What would you do differently?: I wouldn't get hurt Post race
Warm down: Walked my bike back to my car. I felt really good after the race. i had been preparing for it for about 7 months. Event comments: Fantastic job and fantastic course. I will see you next year. Last updated: 2010-05-23 12:00 AM

Ha! This was my first Tri. I didn't have much of a routine. If fact I didn't even swim to prepare for the race.
I got to the race about an hour and a half early. Next time I'll give myself more time. I went to registration and body marking. After I took my equipment to the transition area. I plugged in my iPod and started to lay out my gear. I actually looked at other people's gear to see how I should prepare.
For a warm-up I did some basic stretches along with a couple of push ups and sit ups . I then took a quick jog of about a 1/4 mile then did 2 short sprints. I then did my stretches again.
