Swim
Comments: It was a pool swim. The water was as warm as warm bath. I caught the guy in front of me within the first one and a half laps but I could not pass him becuase people were coming back in the same lane. I kept tapping his feet hoping he would let me pass at the pool edge but he never did. Finally after following him three and a half laps of the eight, I was able to pass him. I hate the pool swim. Comments: Good for me. Ok for everyone else. Bike
Comments: The course was pretty hilly. One hill was a mile long. Another was really steep for a short distance and then so so for another 3/4 of a mile. My bike computer said that the course at 16.62 instead of 16 and my Garmin had it at 16.71, but maybe that was the line I took. Nonetheless, everyone does the same course so it does not really matter other than 18.3 mph looks better than 17.7. :) Transition 2
Comments: My fastest T2 ever. Run
Comments: Since I really have not done much running until last year, this was a really good run for me. Running is still my bane, but I am working on it. My calves started cramping at the beginning of the run and I had to walk a bit to get them straightened out. I forgot to start my garmin until I was about a 1/4 mile in, but it said my first mile was 9:10. The course was not flat at all, but not too bad. It may even have been a bit short for me to average 7:58 m/m particularly since I started out so badly. Post race
Event comments: This is a nice small race. It was put on by GA Multisports and they always put on a nice race. I would not have done it because it has a pool swim, but it is in my hometown and about 4 miles from my Dad's house. Other than the pool swim it was a pretty good race. I spent the night at Dad's and got up REALLY early because that is what he does. I had a cup of coffee with Dad and ate a bowl of cherrios while we watched TV waiting on the 6 am news. I left his house at 6:10 and got to the race at 6:20.
I ran about a half mile very slowly.
