Swim
Comments: I was not as fast as I would have liked, but I was faster than I have been on the Sprints in Eagle Creek. I felt stronger as the swim went on. What would you do differently?: I just need to train more. 12 weeks of training just wasn't enough for this length of race. Transition 1
Comments: I was really woozy coming out of the water. I took an extra minute in the transition area to get my bearings. I purchased new shoes and peddles 2 days before the race and hadn't really practiced clipping in. It took me a while to get started. What would you do differently?: I need to learn to start with my shoes clipped to the peddles. Bike
Comments: I really need to work on my bike speed. I have only really been training on the bike since May. I also need to work on regaining speed after I round a corner. What would you do differently?: Again, I really should have trained longer. Transition 2
Comments: This transition was pretty good. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: My run was REALLY slow. I have been running for years and this should be my strongest leg. I think I was just wiped out by the time the run came around. What would you do differently?: As I've said all along-more training. I also need to practice running off the bike. Post race
Warm down: I walked the transition area a bit and drank some chocolate milk. I felt a little ill after the race. What limited your ability to perform faster: I am new to triathlon. This is my first season and I started training after a 1/2 marathon in May. I think I will definitely be much faster by this time next year. Event comments: Well, I definitely have the bug. Overall, I was really pretty slow, but I have no complaints for my first oly. If anything, I am just really motivated to kick my training into high gear and get ready for more oly's and maybe a HIM next year. Last updated: 2010-05-24 12:00 AM

This was my first Olympic and I was really nervous. I have only been training for 12 weeks, so I didn't really know if I was ready. I woke up at 5:00 (2.5 hours before race time). I ate an english muffin with Nutella and jelly. On the way to the race I drank a 5-Hour Energy. I arrived at the transition area early and got set up.
I ran around the transition area a few times. We also had to walk about a mile to the swim start.
