Pre-race routine:

Full litre of water and wheaties for breakie. Spag Bol the night before.
Event warmup:

Did a 3km warm-up on the bike (because I started out going the wrong direction!)

I actually did the race a week early as I'm not available on the actual race day. So a lot less traffic but no stations set up and no volunteers, and no way to repair a broken spoke.

Course: Moderate headwinds and crosswinds on the long downhill segment after the first big hill which cut off the top speed reachable without effort on what should have been fast downhills. The first big hill was great - very windy and stayed interesting the whole way up. The longer, second hill was a typical Kinglake long hill, but the short sharp hill afterwards was a quadkiller. The rest of the route was just distance and rolling hills. Mostly endurance.
