Swim
Comments: Was going great until a women got her foot in my sports bar and had to stop for a second...I then swam inside too far and had to go back to swim around a bouy...then swam wide...I was all over the place. I couldn't see well and there were a lot of people in the water. What would you do differently?: Get a wet suit. Lift my head up once in a while Transition 1
Bike
Comments: VERY busy...cars, people riding all over the place, getting off their bikes..etc. I just got the bike the week before the race. I had to stop twice to fix my bike. One of my spokes came off and I had to ask a fireman for a bandage to fix it. Other time my lack of exp. on the bike my chain popped off...I fix it really quick. What would you do differently?: Don't get a new bike a week before a race..lol! Transition 2
Run
Comments: legs felt like crap...I had some leg cramps. I was also very hot. What would you do differently?: do more bricks in training. Work on my running. Post race
Warm down: Hung out with my hubby. Big hugs for beating my time from last year by over 18 mins. What limited your ability to perform faster: still need to loose more weight and training more. We booked our hotel room and I didn't know until we got into the room we were in a smoking room....gross. Even if you are a smoker it was bad.
I got up at 4:10 and ate a banana and few bites of oatmeal. set up my stuff and had air added to my tires.
