Pre-race routine:

Left the house at 5:15 with Chris, Megan & Lynn. Stopped at James house to pickup his bike. He rode with Todd, Pat & Kathy. Also stopped for gas & coffee at BP (too long of stop.) Need to leave about 20 minutes earlier as we were rushed to register and get bike to transition.
Event warmup:

No real warm up & was rushed to make start line.

Comments:

First 2 miles as planned but then developed into some walking as bug I had for 2 weeks prior wore me down. I really think more mental lapse than anything but was just not ready to really run or be mentally tough.
What would you do differently?:

Not be sick for 2 weeks & train more.

Actually for not training much due to bug I was mostly happy with bike. I had a few minutes where back hurt from being in aero so much. Also had a few minutes where I was not reeling someone in but most of the time I was staring at rider in front and chasing down. The only rider that passed me was the one I passed with 400 yards to go and he came flying back by Since I was a slow runner I was with slow bikers but I passed a ton of people so it was fun and motivating.
What would you do differently?:

Stay well !!!

Warm down:

Not much . Hung around with the group for awards, ate some cookies & a banana, drank lots of water

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Really main thing was bug that really limited training for 2 weeks.

Event comments:

This is really a fun race & to finish on the bike is awesome. I need to improve 5k time and work on the bike more but this is a lot of fun. Bike is out and bike, you are seeing the leaders on their bikes plus chasing lots of bikes. I was able to see all my teammates on the run and most on the bike.
