Run
Comments: Started in about the middle of wave AA. Heard wave A go off then my wave. GOt the trumpet and bang off goes the starter pistol! Ran easy down the first stretch of road which is down hill. RIght turn and I held steady. Next right on to Folsom I am just relaxing, THen I up from behind me comes triathlon sean! We say hi and he says can I pace with you, I said yea, come on. Hit the first hill and charged up it. Fist mile was easy and fast. I wasn't to worried. Hit mile 2 and held pace. 6:25 a bit of a drop off but same effort. Mile 3 is the toughest with multiple inclines. 6:37. Mile 4,5,6 and pretty flat to downhill and I held on. Last section is a steep hill into the stadium and I charged as hard as I could. Came into the stadium and picked it up a bit and finsihed as best I could. Good enough. I was 3 seconds off my PR here 2 years ago. I am happy. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Waited for my son to finish then we walked through the the lunch bag line and sat in the stadium to find my wife and daughter. What limited your ability to perform faster: Speed work and LT work. Event comments: Just a great time as one of the biggest races in the US! Last updated: 2010-05-30 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5 to catch the RTD bus up to Boulder. Drank a protein fruit shake and a banana and some coffee. Got up to Boulder with almost an hour to spare. Hit the porto johns a few times, said hi to some friends and wished my family well. My 12 year old son was running and my wife and daughter were walking. My son came in at 51 minutes. Not bad.
Did some easy jogging and dynamic stretching then a few strides then up to wave AA. Much harder to get up there this year as people were really wanting to get to the front of their wave. Got there with like 3 minutes to spare.
