Swim
Comments: I suck at swimming still. I'm getting closer and hope to be a fine swimmer by next year. As we were in our AG corrals, you could see lightning off in the distance. It looked like the storm was blowing away from us, but it ending up blossoming and turning into a huge storm that destroyed eastern Kansas and western Missouri. What would you do differently?: Bring an umbrella. Maybe some swim fins and snorkel too. Transition 1
Comments: I had some problems getting my socks on my wet feet. I should have brought an extra towel for drying my dogs off, or find some shoes that don't require socks. What would you do differently?: dry my feet off better or wrap them in medical tape so I don't need socks. Bike
What would you do differently?: Swim faster so I can race with faster cyclists. My swim is so poor, then I haul arse on the bike, and blow by people. I'll get there eventually. Transition 2
Comments: T2 was in a downpour, and back the transition area while they were ripping it down. What would you do differently?: Do my ran dance on Saturday so nature could get the rain out of her system for Sunday. Run
Post race
Warm down: sit in my car waiting for traffic to clear. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. I used my quattro and propelled my petrol beast through the fields and out onto a road, bypassing people who were waiting like cattle. Event comments: We'll try it again next year. That was a helluva storm that blew through. At first I was pissed because I thought they called it because of rain, but 15 minutes later, Mother Nature teed us up and smacked us hard. Very cool storm with lots of rotation, but no tornadoes. I was a little disappointed by this, as I wanted to work on my aero position in a pseudo-wind tunnel (with 120+ mph winds). Maybe another time. Last updated: 2010-05-31 12:00 AM
