Swim
Comments: My swimming can be so much faster. I was watching a tape of my swim and it looked like I was out for a nice little warm-up. Not fast at all. My time was the slowest I've gone in all these races. Next race I will not let myself go this slow. What would you do differently?: Go out faster and just do my thing. Transition 1
Comments: The transition is easy when all you have to do is put on your running shoes and run to the stationary bike. Though, the bikes were up about two flights of stairs which made me pretty tired before I got on the bike. I also forgot to cinch my shoes, which I paid for in my transition to the run. What would you do differently?: Cinch my shoes, and dry off my feet a little more. They were really wet when I put on my shoes. Bike
Comments: Just put my head down and did my miles like I would any other indoor training day. I had 90 rpm average which was good for me. I also kept my mph up. I noticed on my take though that I was rocking a great deal back and forth. I'll have to keep this in mind next time. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Had to run up anothe flight of stairs to the track. Had to cinch my shoes then because I forgot to do it before. Hands were pretty shaky and it was hard to get it done. What would you do differently?: Cinch shoes earlier in race. Run
Comments: I started out too slow. I was really unstable despite training for runs after my bikes. It took a little bit for my heart beat to regulate. Once I did though, I did much better. I always have lots of energy at the end so I need to go faster during the beginning part of the run and just know that I'll be able to finish strong. Beginner nerves. What would you do differently?: Run a steady pace from the start regardless how my body feels. Watch my heart rate monitor closely and go from that. Post race
Event comments: Indoor tri's are a great way to see where I am during the off season. This Y has lots of stairs in it so they really tested you on the transitions. Average race as far as energy and excitement. Last updated: 2006-01-17 12:00 AM

Woke up early and ate right away. Finished my pre-race packing and headed out the door. The drive took about 40 minutes and I got there with thirty minutes to spare. Put on my race suit, set my bike, check my bike, and then went to warm-up. The thirty minutes went quickly.
Ran 1/2 mile on the track at a nice steady pace. Then went on the recumbant bike and road a little over a mile to see my rpm's and which level to stay at. Went down to the pool and jumped right in for a quick 200 warm-up. Then it was time to start.
