Run
Comments: Too hot. The race started at 11am. It was already 75F by then. My 3 1/2 hour time was history before it even started. So I just took it easy. Even so it got too hot for me. There were places on the course with no shelter from the sun. I saw a few people drop out due to the heat and several throwing up on the roadside. I got a couple of opportunities to stop and talk to a cousin I hadn't seen for 7 years and some Aunts and Uncles I hadn't seen for 2 years. So all in all the time didn't matter. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat, amybe a bit of jetlag too. Event comments: Mixed feelings here. Firstly hats off to the organisers for doing something to put the town on the map. As this is the first race there were things wrong. Perhaps they'll be put right with experience. They needed to start the race at 8am. Make sure the mile markers don't get stolen (that why there are no splits) Seperate the runners from the general public on the promenade I had to dodge round many many people out for a sunday afternoon stroll.
