Comments: Timing chip kept coming loose (band was not staying velcroed) and I kept having to stop and refasten it. This happened about 7-8 times during the race. Cost me probably 45-60 sec. What would you do differently?: Bring a safety pin to securely fasten the timing chip. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good, had an issue getting my sunglasses off my helmet (they got stuck in the vents). Long run from the water What would you do differently?: not stick my glasses in the vents ![]() Bike
Comments: Course was good - improved by over 5 minutes from last years race. Stayed in aero for most of the ride and was able to get up the hills without getting out of the saddle and still didn't lose much time from the other competitors around me. My bottle was still mostly frozen so I was not able to drink as much as I would have liked at the beginning of the ride. What would you do differently?: Get my bottle out of the freezer sooner. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Got bike racked very easily but was worried about the ant hill right next to me so the shoes too more time than I would have liked. What would you do differently?: Try to pick a spot not right next to an ant hill. ![]() Run
Comments: Pretty happy with run. Wish it could have been a little faster but I have not been running hills lately and that may have hindered my ability to run the hills more efficiently. What would you do differently?: Train on hills a little more. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked around, got in the pool to cool down. Played in the pool with my son until the awards started. Event comments: Very fun race, they will be adding a youth race next year so hopefully that will bring more people. Last updated: 2010-06-01 12:00 AM

Woke at 4:45, got dressed and ate 1/2 eng muff with peanut butter. made a water bottle to take and left for the race at 5:30.
Jogged last 1/4 mile of the run portion backwards, stretched and got in the water to warm up for the swim.
