Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:30, loaded the car and headed to the race site.
Set up my stuff in TA, then went to work.
Event warmup:

No warmup, figured working was a good warmup. Rode the bike just to make sure nothing had fallen off:)

Hot, hot, hot. Water temp was in the 90's. I thought I had a good swim, sighted perfect, never got bumped till the end where the earlier wave was finishing. Thoroughly dissapointed in how I finished.
What would you do differently?:

I would have skipped the tri-suit if I had realized how hot the water was.

It's a long run from the swim exit to TA, I passed a few people on the way. Good transition, no problems.
What would you do differently?:

Not much to do different, looking at the other times I was right up there.

The bike was better this year for me than last year. Passed a bunch of people, none in my age group of course. Coming back on 55 got passed by a big pack of riders in the wave behind me and 2-3 in my AG. Remebered that I suck at biking.
What would you do differently?:

Just like the swim, I was suprised at the bike time, I thought it was better. But at least I did not loose any positions.

Right near the top as far as time goes, so not much I could do different.

Felt good on the run, left transition with another guy in my AG and kept up with him for about 1/2 of the run, then he was gone!
What would you do differently?:

Probably could have pushed it harder on the run. Made the mistake of figuring that I was in the top 10 in my AG and did not see anybody close enough to catch, and nobody close enough to catch me.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched, had a bannana and some gatorade. Hung out till about 9:30 then went back to work.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not sure what happened on the swim, the bike was right based on my ability and the run was good.

Event comments:

Took 3 minutes off of last year, 1 minute in each of the 3 sports. Really wanted a top ten finish. My same time on Sunday's race would have been good enough for 6th.
Looking forward to some time off.

Course: The first part of the course felt hillier than the second half. Going out of the park it's hard to pass. They took out some of the speed bumps this year which made it much better.

Course: Part on pavement, part trail run. I'd say the first mile is slightly uphill, then on the trail part there are some rollers. The finish is on a slight downhill which is nice.
