Pre-race routine:

Checked in, went to transition area got gear ready, then ate a couple PB&Js and some sport beans. Should have brought more water & GU Brew.

Comments:

Total madness! By the time it was my turn in the water the lake was pure mud! Couldn't see, and waves from other gals would push me back! Used way to much of my legs in the swim.
What would you do differently?:

More open water swim training and more swim training in general!

I rocked my first transition! I really pushed.
What would you do differently?:

Got caught in traffic at transition exit, slowed down & waited behind gals. Should have asked to pass. It's a race, not a church social. =0)

I took at least a mile to get comfortable & really push. Fact of life is, a hybrid can't keep up with road bikes. Really pushed, and legs where tired from swim.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need more training, road bike, and more training! =0)

Event comments:

I was a little disappointed in a couple things. 1.) T-shirts where impossible tiny & short. 2.) No race participation medal 3.) Post party stuff was all gone, when we went down to join. 4.) Athena & Mountain Bike categories got messed up.

Overall I plan to do more of the series and hope they can tweak the race as it progresses through the season.
