Comments: Had some trouble initially working into a breathing routine while trying to maneuver starting people and rough chop. Settled in after a couple minutes. Great first swim in the Orca wetsuit. No chafing. Nice bouyancy. Transition 1

Comments: Had difficulty on the start of the run. For the first mile, I had to walk and then run. Ate a couple beans, which I think actually helped so that I could run the last 2 miles. What would you do differently?: I have to add nutrition on the bike segment, especially when it's been hours since breakfast. Post race
Warm down: Stretching while getting something to eat. However, the only thing I ate was fruit, which probably spiked my blood sugar, which was followed about 30 minutes later by a big drop. I asked one of the other ladies to drive home at that point. Event comments: Nice route, relatively flat. I tried to give it my all on the swim, then give it my all on the bike, and I really felt good about those two segments. However, when I hit the run segment, I didn't have the energy to start running and needed to walk-run the first mile. The next race, I need to be more prepared for nutrition so that I stay in FRONT of my nutritional needs. Last updated: 2010-06-07 12:00 AM

Race was delayed an hour due to intense weather - torrential rain, gusting wind. I didn't eat during the delay, which was a mistake.
