Swim
Comments: It was better. Still not good but that was probably the best swim I have done. Still have a few issues but I really think that just more time in the pool will help with those. What would you do differently?: More pool time. It's slowly coming around. Transition 1
Comments: Another strong transition for me. :58 was the fastest T1 in my AG so I am happy about that. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: I had a really good bike ride. It took me about a mile or so to get my HR down from the swim but once I settled into a good rhythm, I was feeling good. Due to my swim seeding, I had a lot of traffic to get through in the first 4-5 miles and some were not riding to the right which slowed me down some. Played leap frog with two other guys for about the last 5 miles. What would you do differently?: I might have pushed a little hard on the bike. Not sure. Transition 2
Comments: Still pretty quick. Had a little problem with getting my left shoe on. Might have cost a few seconds at the most. Run
Comments: I was feeling really good coming off the bike. Felt great for the first mile. Hit my lap button on my watch a little late coming out of T2. Had the first mile at 7:11 but I was thinking since I started it late, I was probably more like 7:45. That is right on my 5K PR pace. I was pretty sure that was too fast. i was still feeling good at the turn around, but at around mile 2 I started hurting. Ran the second mile in 8:07. Then some hills started coming and the wheels started to fall off. Started hurting pretty bad and just tried to hold on. Ran the last mile pretty slow something around 9:15. What would you do differently?: I am pretty sure that this was a run pacing issue not a bike issue but i am not 100% sure. i think I need to do some work on my run pacing coming off of the bike. It always seems that I am going so much slower than I am. I know I can run faster, I just need to prove it in a race. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, had some pizza and cheered on the 80 year old whose birthday it was. That was a mazing. What limited your ability to perform faster: Run pacing. I know that I left a few minutes on that run course. Combine that with improving my swim and I am sure that I could get top 10 in my age group. Event comments: This was an outstanding race. Tons of volunteers and spectators. Very well run. I will put this on the calendar for next year! Last updated: 2010-06-08 12:00 AM

The usual. Up early with some oatmeal and out the door with some coffee. Made it to the race at about 5:45.
A light jog, and then a little swim.
